"Home" by Yolanda C.

Title: "Home"

Media: Mixed Media

Size: 20" x 16"

Yolanda has a long history of being part of life. Growing up in Richmond, she adored her mom, who she says taught her so much. She moved out at 19 when she was still walking. She had jobs at Albertson’s, Armor Transport, and some fast-food restaurants. She still calls her old boyfriends once in a while.

Yolanda does many kinds of art. She enjoys shaping clay into bowls and cups. She paints houses and trees. She describes her process of drawing a tree with a pencil: making the trunk and the branches brown at the bottom, then coloring in with lighter colors and greens. Then adding oranges. She likes the feeling in her hands. Purple is her color of choice.

Yolanda likes life and people. She gets along with everyone, and she likes nothing more than helping others with anything she can.
